Abbe Lane, born Abigail Francine Lassman on December 14, 1932, is an American singer and actress known for her vibrant performances in music and television. She began her career as a child actress on radio before transitioning to Broadway, where she showcased her singing and dancing talents. Lane gained prominence as a nightclub singer, particularly influenced by her marriage to Xavier Cugat, which lasted from 1952 to 1964. Her musical style often incorporated Latin and rumba elements. Notable works include her role in the 1958 Broadway musical Oh, Captain! and the successful album Be Mine Tonight, a collaboration with Tito Puente. Lane appeared on various television programs, including The Jackie Gleason Show and The Brady Bunch, and played a role in Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983). She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, recognizing her contributions to television.
