Agnès Varda, born Arlette Varda on May 30, 1928, in Brussels, Belgium, was a prominent film director and writer. She is celebrated for her contributions to cinema, particularly for her influential works such as "Cleo from 5 to 7" (1962), "Vagabond" (1985), and "Faces Places" (2017). Varda was a key figure in the French New Wave movement and was known for her unique storytelling and innovative visual style. She was married to fellow filmmaker Jacques Demy. Varda's work earned her numerous accolades throughout her career, reflecting her significant impact on the film industry. She passed away on March 29, 2019, in Paris, France.
