Biography

Ahmed Best, born on August 19, 1973, is an American voice actor and musician best known for his role as Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars franchise. His performance in the prequel trilogy, released in the late 1990s and early 2000s, garnered significant attention. In addition to his work in film, Best appeared in the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials and created, wrote, directed, and produced the television show This Can't Be My Life. He collaborated with director George Lucas on three films and contributed to five episodes of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Best has received recognition for his voice work, including an Annie Award for Best Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production. He was raised in the Soundview section of the Bronx and later moved to Maplewood, New Jersey, where he attended Columbia High School and studied percussion at the Manhattan School of Music.
