Biography

Alessandro Gassman is an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter, born to the renowned actor Vittorio Gassman and Juliette Mayniel. He made his film debut at the age of 17 with "Di Padre In Figlio," which he co-wrote and co-directed with his father. Gassman gained recognition for his roles in films such as "La Monaca Di Monza" (1986) and "L'Altra Enigma," directed by his father and Carlo Tuzzi. His performance in "The Turkish Bath," directed by Ferzan Ozpetek, earned him critical acclaim. Other notable films include "When We Were Repressed," "Macho," and "A Month by the Lake," where he starred alongside Vanessa Redgrave and Uma Thurman. Gassman has also appeared in various television productions, including the mini-series "Dalida." His diverse body of work reflects his contributions to Italian cinema over several decades.
