Biography

Alice Glass, born on August 23, 1988, in Toronto, Ontario, is a Canadian singer and songwriter best known as the vocalist and co-writer of the electronic music duo Crystal Castles. At the age of fourteen, she left home to join a squat community and formed an all-girl crust-noise band called Fetus Fatale. Her collaboration with Ethan Kath began when he provided her with instrumental tracks, leading to the creation of Crystal Castles. The band's debut single, "Alice Practice," emerged from a recording session that included an unexpected track. Glass's performances were often marked by personal struggles, including injuries sustained in accidents, yet she continued to tour. In October 2014, she announced her departure from Crystal Castles to pursue a solo career, citing personal and professional reasons. Her influence on the electronic music scene remains significant.
