Alina Zagitova
Biography
Alina Ilnazovna Zagitova, born on 18 May 2002 in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, is a prominent Russian figure skater. She gained international recognition as the 2018 Olympic champion and the 2018 European champion. Additionally, Zagitova secured titles as the 2017–18 Grand Prix Final champion and the 2018 Russian national champion. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she contributed to a silver medal win in the team event as part of the Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) team. Earlier in her career, she achieved gold at the 2017 World Junior Championships and became the first junior lady to surpass a total score of 200 points at the 2016–17 Junior Grand Prix Final. Zagitova moved to Moscow at the age of 13, where she lives with her grandmother. Her hobbies include drawing and caring for her pets, which include chinchillas, a dog, and a cat.
