Aliona Vilani

Biography

Aliona Vilani, born on 1 May 1984 in Kazakhstan, is a professional dancer of Russian-Kazakhstani descent. She began ballet lessons at the age of five and moved to Russia at 11 to study ballroom dancing. In 1997, she relocated to the United States and joined the Kaiser Dance Academy in Brooklyn, New York. By 2001, she was part of the US Ballroom team that won the Amateur Ballroom category at the National Dance Congress, becoming the youngest dancer in the US to turn professional shortly thereafter. Since 2006, Vilani has resided in Los Angeles, where she competes, performs, and teaches, specializing in 10 Dance, Salsa, Hip Hop, and Jazz. She appeared as a guest dancer on Dancing with the Stars in 2009 and participated in series 7 of the show, partnering with Rav Wilding before being eliminated in week 3. She is currently single.
