Biography

Allen Leech (born 18 May 1981) is an Irish actor recognized for his diverse roles in stage, television, and film. He gained prominence as Marcus Agrippa in HBO's series Rome and as Tom Branson in ITV's Downton Abbey. Leech also portrayed Paul Prenter in the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018).

Born in Killiney, Dublin, he attended St. Michael's College and later studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College, Dublin. He began his professional career with a role in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Gate Theatre.

Leech's early film work includes Cowboys and Angels and Man About Dog. He received critical acclaim for his performance in the RTÉ series Love is the Drug and was nominated for awards from the Irish Film and Television Academy. His other notable television appearances include The Tudors and Primeval, as well as the film adaptation of The Sweeney in 2012.
