Amy Beth Hayes was born on 8 October 1982 in Wales and grew up in the North-East of England. As a teenager, she participated in the National Youth Theatre, which helped to cultivate her interest in the performing arts. Hayes pursued her higher education in English Literature at Keble College, University of Oxford, where she engaged actively with the Oxford University Dramatic Society (OUDS). Following her graduation with honours, she furthered her training in acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
