Biography

Ana Caterina Morariu is a Romanian-born Italian actress, originally from Cluj-Napoca. She is the daughter of classic ballet dancer Marineta Rodica Rotaru. At a young age, Morariu moved to Italy with her mother, spending time in Tuscany and Calabria. She graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome in 2002 and began her stage career the same year. Morariu gained recognition in 2004 through significant roles in television series and TV movies. She is particularly noted for her portrayal of Marie Cressay in the 2005 French miniseries Les Rois maudits. In 2006, she received a nomination for the David di Donatello in the "best actress" category for her performance in Carlo Verdone's film Il mio miglior nemico. Morariu remains active in film, television, and theater.
