Biography

Ana Gasteyer, born on May 4, 1967, in Washington, DC, is an American comedienne and actress best known for her work on Saturday Night Live (SNL), where she was a cast member from 1996 to 2002. A graduate of Sidwell Friends School and Northwestern University, Gasteyer honed her comedic skills with the Los Angeles improv group The Groundlings. During her tenure on SNL, she created memorable characters such as music teacher Bobbie Moughan-Culp and NPR host Margaret Jo McCullen, and performed notable impressions of celebrities including Martha Stewart and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Gasteyer has appeared in various television programs and films, including a role in Mean Girls, and made a guest appearance in the iconic "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld. Currently, she stars as Elphaba in the musical Wicked at the Oriental Theater in Chicago. She is married to Charlie McKittrick and has a daughter.
