Anna Netrebko

Biography

Anna Netrebko, born on 18 September 1971 in the Russian Federation, is a prominent operatic soprano who holds dual Russian and Austrian citizenship. Residing in Vienna, she has gained international acclaim for her powerful voice and stage presence, earning her the nickname "La Bellissima." Netrebko first gained significant recognition in the early 2000s and has since performed in leading opera houses around the world. In December 2007, she became engaged to Uruguayan bass-baritone Erwin Schrott, but their wedding did not occur despite an announcement in April 2008. The couple has one son, Tiago Aruã, born on 5 September 2008. Netrebko and Schrott announced their separation on 25 November 2013 after several months of living separately.
