Anouk Hoogendijk, born on May 6, 1985, in Woerden, Netherlands, is a professional footballer who plays as a defender. Standing at 165 cm (5' 5"), she is known for her contributions to women's football. Hoogendijk began her career at Saestum before moving to FC Utrecht and later playing for Bristol Academy and Ajax. In January 2014, she made history by becoming Arsenal Ladies' first non-British/Irish signing. Hoogendijk grew up in Mijdrecht, the daughter of physical education teachers, and has one brother. She is a mother of two sons, Sonny Otto, born in October 2020, and Jip, both fathered by her partner, Pieter Lodewijk Verhoeven.
