Biography

Aubrey Shea Peeples, born on November 27, 1993, is a queer actor and jazz pop musician from Florida. She began her career in professional theater at the age of ten and later deferred enrollment at Harvard to pursue acting. Peeples gained recognition for her role as Layla Grant on ABC's Nashville, where she portrayed a character navigating fame, mental health struggles, and personal identity. She has toured across the U.S. and performed at the Grand Ole Opry. Peeples made her writing and directorial debut with the film "Decadeless," which premiered in 2019. She also starred in Carrie Brownstein's Hulu pilot "Search & Destroy" and currently leads the series "Unconventional." Her debut album, "Happy Birthday," was released on November 26, 2021, under the name "swampz," exploring themes of mental health through a blend of musical styles. Peeples is interested in studying Human Evolutionary Biology, Ecology, and Sociology in the future.
