Biography

Barbara De Rossi, born on 9 August 1960 in Rome, Italy, is an accomplished actress known for her work in film, television, and theatre. She was raised in Rimini and began her career at age 15 when she was discovered by director Alberto Lattuada during a beauty contest. De Rossi made her film debut in Lattuada's Stay As You Are (1978) and gained recognition for her role as Virna Lisi's daughter in La Cicala (1980). She appeared in notable productions such as Hearts and Armour (1983), the mini-series Quo Vadis?, and Mussolini and I. In 1990, she starred in Claude Chabrol's Quiet Days in Clichy. De Rossi won the David di Donatello for Best Actress in 1994 for her role in Sentimental Maniacs. Since 2008, she has served as a judge on the talent show Ti lascio una canzone. De Rossi has been married twice and has one daughter, Martina, born in 1995.
