Barbara Matera, born on 9 December 1981 in Lucera, Province of Foggia, Italy, is an Italian television announcer, actress, and politician. She is affiliated with the centre-right party, The People of Freedom (PdL), and has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). Matera studied Educational Sciences at the University of Rome La Sapienza, although she did not complete her degree. In 2000, she gained public attention as a contestant in the Miss Italia beauty contest. Her broadcasting career began in September 2003 when she became an announcer for Rai Uno, Italy's primary state-owned television channel. Matera's work spans both the entertainment and political arenas, reflecting her diverse interests and capabilities. Her current residence and relationship status are not publicly disclosed.
