Biography

Benedict Wong, born on 20 February 1970 in Eccles, Lancashire, England, is an English actor recognized for his work in stage, film, and television. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Kublai Khan in Netflix's series Marco Polo (2014–2016) and Bruce Ng in the film The Martian (2015). Wong is also known for his role as Wong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Doctor Strange (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Raised in Salford, he is the son of parents who emigrated from Hong Kong via Ireland. Wong attended De La Salle Sixth Form College and later pursued a two-year performing arts course at Salford City College. He is an avid supporter of Manchester United.
