Bobby Darin
Biography
Bobby Darin was an American singer and film actor born in The Bronx, New York. He attended the Bronx High School of Science and Hunter College. Darin was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960 until their divorce in 1967, and they had one son, Dodd Mitchell Darin, born in 1961. He began his career as a songwriter for Connie Francis and achieved fame with hits like "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover," "Mack the Knife," and "Beyond the Sea." In 1962, he won a Golden Globe for his role in the film "Come September." Darin became politically active in the 1960s, supporting Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign and witnessing the aftermath of Kennedy's assassination. Despite a successful television comeback in 1973, Darin's health declined due to a lifelong heart condition. He died at the age of 37 following heart surgery in Los Angeles.
