Biography
Robert Francis "Bobcat" Goldthwait, born May 26, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, is an American comedian and filmmaker recognized for his distinctive high-pitched voice. He began performing comedy at age 15 and gained national attention with his stand-up acts, featuring in three televised specials during the 1980s. Goldthwait's film career includes notable roles in the "Police Academy" series and his directorial debut with "Shakes the Clown" (1991). He also directed the feature film "Sleeping Dogs Lie" (2006), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Apart from his film work, Goldthwait has made numerous guest appearances on television and voiced characters in various animated series. He was married to Ann Luly from 1986 until their divorce in 1998 and has two children. Goldthwait has directed segments for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and continues to be active in the entertainment industry.
