Carmen Carrera, born Christopher Roman on April 13, 1985, in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, is a reality television personality and burlesque dancer. She gained fame as a contestant on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race and its spin-off, RuPaul's Drag U. In 2012, she publicly came out as a transgender woman, becoming the first openly trans model signed by Elite Model Management in New York City. Carrera was notably petitioned by the public to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Her acting credits include a role in the CW series Jane the Virgin and Jonathan Demme's film Ricki & The Flash, featuring Meryl Streep. An advocate for trans inclusivity and body diversity, she has been featured in major publications such as Vogue and Glamour. Carrera has also launched CC3 Entertainment, a digital marketing agency aimed at supporting LGBTQ influencers. She remains a vocal ally for women's issues and empowerment.
