Biography

Cassandra Harris, born Sandra Colleen Waites on 15 December 1948, was an Australian actress known for her work in film and television. She was born in Sydney and began her acting education at the National Institute of Dramatic Art at the age of 12. Harris gained prominence with her role in the Sydney stage production of Boeing Boeing (1964–65). Her film credits include The Greek Tycoon (1978), Rough Cut (1980), and the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only (1981), where she portrayed Countess Lisl von Schlaf. During the filming of For Your Eyes Only, her third husband, Pierce Brosnan, met producer Albert R. Broccoli, leading to Brosnan's future casting as James Bond. Harris also appeared in several episodes of the television series Remington Steele alongside Brosnan. The couple married on 27 December 1980. Harris passed away on 28 December 1991.
