Biography

Kim Jong Dae, known by his stage name Chen, is a South Korean singer and main vocalist of the boy group EXO, managed by SM Entertainment. Born in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, he joined SM Entertainment in 2011 after being scouted. Chen debuted with EXO in 2012 and has since been a part of its sub-units EXO-M and EXO-CBX. He is recognized for his powerful voice and ability to sing high notes, as well as his playful personality within the group. Chen has also participated in writing lyrics for several EXO songs and made his solo debut with "Beautiful Goodbye." In January 2020, it was announced that he was married and expecting his first child, who was born in April 2020. He completed his military service from October 2020 to April 2022. Chen holds a degree in Advertisement Media from Hanyang Cyber University.
