Biography

Cherie Currie is best known as the teenage lead vocalist of the all-female rock band The Runaways, which gained prominence in the 1970s. The band, featuring notable members such as Joan Jett and Lita Ford, released three albums: "The Runaways," "Queens of Noise," and "Live in Japan." After departing from The Runaways, Currie pursued a solo career in music and acting, appearing in films like "Zorras" (1980), "Parásito" (1982), and "Wavelength" (1983), as well as guest-starring in popular television series. She co-authored the memoir "Neon Angel: The Cherie Currie Story," detailing her struggles with addiction. Currie remains active in the entertainment industry, performing part-time and working as a drug counselor. She has also taken on the role of record producer and opened a Chainsaw Art Gallery in Chatsworth, California. The Runaways' legacy continues to influence contemporary artists.
