Claire Jane Sweeney, born on 17 April 1971, is an English actress, singer, and television personality. She gained prominence for her role as Lindsey Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside from 1991 to 2003. Sweeney has also performed in various stage productions, including Roxie Hart in Chicago and roles in Guys and Dolls, Tell Me on a Sunday, Legally Blonde, and Educating Rita. She was a panellist on ITV's Loose Women and hosted 60 Minute Makeover. Sweeney's reality TV appearances include Celebrity Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing, and Dancing on Ice. Her debut album, Claire, charted at number 15 in the UK in 2002. Since 2023, she has portrayed Cassie Plummer on Coronation Street. Sweeney is involved in charitable work, supporting organizations like Claire House Children's Hospice and the Children's Liver Disease Foundation. She has one son and has engaged in various public relationships.
