Biography

Cree Summer Francks, born on July 7, 1969, is an American-Canadian actress and singer renowned for her work in animation. She is widely recognized for voicing characters such as Elmyra Duff in Tiny Toon Adventures, Susie Carmichael in Rugrats, and Lizard in Spirit Rangers, for which she received a NAACP Image Award and two Children's and Family Emmy Award nominations. Summer's extensive voice acting credits also include roles in Inspector Gadget, Batman Beyond, and Gargoyles, among others. In live-action, she is known for portraying Winifred "Freddie" Brooks in the NBC sitcom A Different World and librarian Rosalyn Inez in Abbott Elementary since 2024. Summer holds dual citizenship in the United States and Canada. She was previously married to producer Angelo Pullen from 2012 until their separation in May 2022 and has two daughters. Her younger brother, Rainbow Sun Francks, is also involved in the entertainment industry.
