Duff McKagan

Biography

Duff McKagan, born on February 5, 1964, in Seattle, Washington, is an American musician and writer renowned for his role as the bassist of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses. He achieved significant fame during the late 1980s and early 1990s with the band. The youngest of eight children, McKagan grew up in a working-class family and learned to play bass from his brother. After dropping out of high school, he later pursued education in finance, motivated by his experiences in the music industry. McKagan has faced personal challenges, including health issues related to alcoholism, which ultimately led him to sobriety. He has been married three times, currently to model Susan Holmes, with whom he has two daughters. McKagan resides in Seattle and has also been involved in other musical projects, including Velvet Revolver.
