Biography

Felicity Kendal is a British actress renowned for her versatile performances across stage and television. Born in England and raised in India, she grew up in a theatrical environment, as her parents, Geoffrey Kendal and Laura Liddell, toured with a classical theatre troupe called Shakespeareana. She began her stage career as an infant and gained early experience in Shakespearean roles. Kendal gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Barbara Good in the television series "Good Neighbors" (1975). Her stage work includes notable roles in plays by Tom Stoppard and classic performances in Shakespearean productions, such as Desdemona opposite Paul Scofield in "Othello." Throughout her career, she has continued to perform regularly in London's West End. In 1995, she was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), and in 1999, she published her memoirs titled "White Cargo."
