Biography

Giselle Monteiro is a Brazilian model and actress, born in São Mateus, Espírito Santo. She began her modeling career at the age of seventeen and moved to Mumbai, India, in 2008. Monteiro made her Bollywood acting debut in Imtiaz Ali's film Love Aaj Kal (2009), where she portrayed Harleen Kaur, an old-fashioned Punjabi girl. Initially kept under wraps during the film's promotion, her identity was revealed post-release. She had approached Ali for a different role but was cast in Harleen's part instead. Monteiro has graced the covers of prominent fashion magazines in India, including Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, and Marie Claire. In addition to her film career, she serves as a brand ambassador for Wills Lifestyle, Movil Mobiles, and PC Jewellers. She also appeared in the film Always Kabhi Kabhi (2011) and featured in a campaign for Westside in September 2011.
