Hélène Cardona
Biography
Hélène Cardona is a multilingual poet, translator, and actress, holding citizenship in the United States, France, and Spain. Born in Paris to a Greek mother and a Spanish father, she has lived in various European cities and New York City, and is fluent in six languages. Cardona studied English Philology and Literature at Cambridge, Spanish in Spain, and German at the Goethe Institute, and holds a Master's in American Literature from the Sorbonne. She has worked as a translator and language coach in the film and music industries, with notable translations including works by Dorianne Laux and her father, José Manuel Cardona. Cardona's poetry collections include The Astonished Universe and the forthcoming Life In Suspension. She has performed in films such as Chocolat and has extensive voice credits. Additionally, she is an equestrian, dancer, and yoga practitioner, and is a member of several professional organizations, including PEN USA and BAFTA/LA.
