Joaquim de Almeida, born on 15 March 1957 in Portugal, is a prominent actor known for his extensive work in both European and American cinema. He has appeared in over 40 feature films, collaborating with notable actors and directors. De Almeida made his American film debut in The Soldier and gained recognition for roles in films such as Beyond the Limit, Only You, and Clear and Present Danger. He has also starred in acclaimed films like Desperado and The Death and Life of Bobby Z. In television, he is known for recurring roles in NBC's The West Wing and 24. De Almeida has a strong theatre background, having performed in productions across the United States and Europe. Fluent in multiple languages, he divides his time between Lisbon and Los Angeles.
