Biography

Josh Charles is an American actor best known for his roles in film and television. He gained prominence for his performance in the 1989 film Dead Poets Society, where he starred alongside Ethan Hawke, with whom he remains friends. Charles attended The Baltimore School for the Performing Arts, where he was classmates with notable figures such as Tupac Shakur and Jada Pinkett Smith. He is a graduate of Stagedoor Manor Theater Camp and has a passion for music, playing the guitar. A dedicated sports fan, he particularly supports the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. Charles won the inaugural NFL Network Fantasy Football League in 2004-2005 and is an admirer of the works of filmmaker Federico Fellini.
