Lalla Ward

Biography

Lalla Ward, born on 28 June 1951 in the United Kingdom, is an English actress and author recognized for her role as Romana in the BBC television series Doctor Who. She became the second actress to portray the Time Lady Romana (Romanadvoratrelundar) after making a guest appearance as Princess Astra in the 1979 story The Armageddon Factor. Ward succeeded Mary Tamm, who opted not to continue in the role. She appeared in all stories of Season 17 and was written out of the series in the third to last story of Season 18, titled Warriors' Gate. In addition to her acting career, Ward has authored several works. She is currently married.
