Lambert Wilson
Biography
Lambert Wilson, born on 3 August 1958 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, is a prominent French actor recognized internationally for his role as The Merovingian in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. He is the son of actor and theatrical manager Georges Wilson. Wilson screen tested for the role of James Bond in The Living Daylights (1987) and appeared in notable Calvin Klein advertisements in the early 1990s. In addition to his acting career, he released the album Musicals in 1989, showcasing songs from American musical theater. Wilson has directed stage productions, including Alfred de Musset's Les Caprices de Marianne and Jean Racine's Bérénice. He served on the jury for the 2012 International Film Festival of Marrakech and visited Haiti in 2013 to support UN-backed environmental and cultural initiatives, where he documented his experiences through a blog.
