She is a South Korean singer and a member of the popular girl group Girls' Generation, which debuted under SM Entertainment on August 5, 2007. Sunny serves as the lead vocalist and sub rapper of the group. She trained for five years before debuting, previously being part of a duo that never officially launched. Sunny has appeared in various musicals and voiced characters in animated films. She has received multiple awards for her performances, including accolades for her work in musical theater and as a radio DJ. Known for her vibrant personality and talent, she has earned nicknames such as "Queen of Aegyo." Sunny is currently active in the entertainment industry and resides in South Korea.
