Biography

Lilly Christine, born Martha Theresa Pompender on December 17, 1923, in Dunkirk, New York, was a prominent burlesque exotic dancer and men's magazine model from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. Known as "The Cat Girl," she captivated audiences with her striking stage presence and a distinctive style characterized by her long peroxide blonde hair and voluptuous figure. Christine first gained recognition in 1948 with her performance of the voodoo love potion dance at Prima's 500 Club in New Orleans. She also appeared in the Broadway revue "Michael Todd's Peep Show" from 1950 to 1951. Throughout her career, she was featured in various adult publications and had minor roles in films such as "Two Guys from Texas." Lilly Christine continued to perform until her untimely death from peritonitis on January 9, 1965, in Broward County, Florida, at the age of 41.
