Biography

Liza Weil, born Liza Rebecca Weil on June 5, 1977, in Passaic, New Jersey, is an American actress recognized for her role as Paris Geller in the television series Gilmore Girls and as Amanda Tanner in the first season of ABC's Scandal. She has appeared in the web drama Anyone But Me and has guest-starred in various television shows, including The Adventures of Pete & Pete, ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Grey's Anatomy, and The West Wing. Weil grew up in a family of actors; her parents, Lisa and Marc Weil, toured Europe with their comedy troupe, The Madhouse Company of London. The family later settled in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where Weil attended North Penn High School, graduating in 1995. Before fully committing to acting, she had aspirations of becoming an archaeologist inspired by the Indiana Jones films.
