Biography

Lorenzo Fernando Lamas was born on January 20, 1958, in Santa Monica, California. He is the son of actors Arlene Dahl and Fernando Lamas, with an Argentinian father and an American mother of Norwegian descent. Raised in Pacific Palisades, California, and later moving to New York, he graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in 1975. Encouraged by his father, Lamas began his acting career in 1976 and studied martial arts in 1979. He gained fame for his roles in television series such as Lance Cumson in CBS's Falcon Crest and Reno Raines in Renegade. Lamas has appeared in over fifty films and has a successful stage career, including performances in The King and I and A Chorus Line. An avid motorcyclist and commercial pilot, he participates in charity work and has received certification as a helicopter flight instructor. He currently resides in the United States and is single.
