Lyrica Okano is an American actress best known for her role as Nico Minoru in the Hulu original series Runaways, which premiered in 2017. Born to parents who emigrated from Tokyo, Japan, she grew up in the United States and was exposed to the punk rock scene through her family's interests. Okano began training in Olympic gymnastics at the age of four but transitioned away from the sport at 14, citing a desire for social interaction. Throughout her schooling, she faced bullying due to her ethnicity and cultural differences. Despite these challenges, she developed a friendship with fellow actress Yuka Taga, which later led to collaborations. Okano's performance in Runaways has garnered her recognition in the entertainment industry.
