Mabel Normand was an American silent film comedienne and actress, recognized as one of the early female screenwriters, producers, and directors in the film industry. She gained fame as a star of Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios and frequently collaborated with notable figures such as Charles Chaplin and Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, co-starring in numerous successful films during the late 1910s and early 1920s. At the peak of her career, she established her own movie studio and production company. Normand's life was marked by highly publicized scandals, including the 1922 murder of William Desmond Taylor and the 1924 shooting incident involving her chauffeur. Although she was not implicated in these events, her career declined in the 1920s due to health issues, including a recurrence of tuberculosis. Mabel Normand passed away in 1930 at the age of 37.
