Biography

Marc Bolan was a British musician and songwriter, best known as the frontman of the glam rock band T. Rex. Born in Stoke Newington, London, he developed a passion for rock and roll at an early age, influenced by artists such as Gene Vincent and Chuck Berry. After struggling in various musical endeavors, he achieved success in the early 1970s with hits like "Ride a White Swan" and "Get It On," which helped define the glam rock movement. Bolan's lyrical style combined poetic elements with a distinctive sound that resonated with fans. He hosted the television show "Marc," showcasing new and established artists. Tragically, Bolan died in a car accident on September 16, 1977, at the age of 29. He left behind a legacy as a pioneering figure in rock music, remembered for his flamboyant style and musical innovation. His influence continues to be felt in popular music today.
