Biography

Marina Berti, born Elena Maureen Bertolini on 29 September 1924 in London, England, was an English-born Italian film actress. She made her screen debut in the 1941 film La Fuggitiva, featuring in nearly 100 films over her career, often in small roles but occasionally in leading parts. Notable appearances include Quo Vadis (1951), Abdulla the Great (1955), Ben Hur (1959), Madame Sans-Gêne (1962), Cleopatra (1963), If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969), Moses the Lawgiver (1975), and the mini-series Jesus of Nazareth (1977). Berti's final film role was in Costa-Gavras' Amen. in 2002. She passed away on 29 October 2002 in Rome, Italy, at the age of 78.
