She is best known for her role as Dale Arden in the 1980 film Flash Gordon. Anderson holds a master's degree in social work and has worked as the Coordinator of Family Services at Hazelden New York since 1997, where she specializes in treating families affected by substance abuse. In addition to her counseling work, she has made media appearances, including contributions to CBS Morning and participation in documentaries. Anderson retired from acting in the mid-1990s but has continued to engage with fans at conventions.
