Biography

Men At Work is an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1979, recognized for their hits such as "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Down Under." The founding member, Colin Hay, served as lead vocalist and guitarist. The original lineup included Ron Strykert on bass, Jerry Speiser on drums, Greg Ham on flute, saxophone, and keyboards, and John Rees on bass guitar. The band achieved significant success in the early 1980s, becoming the first Australian artists to top both the album and single charts in the United States simultaneously with "Business as Usual" and "Down Under." They won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1983 and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1994. The original lineup disbanded in 1984, with Hay continuing to perform under the Men at Work name, most recently reviving the brand for tours beginning in 2019.
