Biography

Nonso Anozie was born on May 28, 1979, in London, England. He is a British actor recognized for his roles in films such as The Grey (2011), Atonement (2007), and Ender's Game (2013). Anozie graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama in 2002 and became notable for his portrayal of Othello in a 2005 production by the Cheek by Jowl theatre company, earning the Ian Charleson Award. He also won the Magnolia Stage Performance Award in 2004 in China, becoming the first non-Chinese actor to receive the best actor prize. In 2002, he made history as the youngest actor to play King Lear professionally. Although initially cast as the voice of Iorek Byrnison in The Golden Compass (2007), he was replaced by Ian McKellen. Anozie stands at 6 feet 6 inches tall.
