Olesya Stefanko

Biography

Olesya Stefanko was born on June 25, 1988, in Kolomyia, Ukraine. She studied at the Odesa National Law Academy, where she was named Miss Odesa National Law Academy in 2008. In December 2010, she won the title of Miss Ukraine Universe, which allowed her to represent Ukraine at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant. Standing at 1.77 m (5 ft 9 1⁄2 in), Stefanko achieved the notable distinction of finishing as the first runner-up, marking the highest placement for Ukraine in the history of the Miss Universe pageant. Following the competition, a petition emerged calling for the revocation of her title due to controversy surrounding her use of the Russian language during the pageant. Stefanko continues to pursue her legal education in Odessa.
