Biography

Pamela Stephenson is a New Zealand actor, comedienne, and psychologist, born on December 4, 1949, in Takapuna, Auckland. She is married to Scottish comedian Billy Connolly, having wed in Fiji on December 20, 1989. Stephenson gained recognition for her role in the 1980s UK comedy sketch show "Not the Nine O'Clock News," where she famously spoof-interviewed Connolly. Her contributions to the show led to collaborations with writers Mark Lepine and Mike Leigh, resulting in the book and board game "How to be a Complete Bitch." In addition to her television work, she appeared in films such as "Superman III" and "History of the World Part 1." Stephenson has recorded several singles related to her television work. She earned a doctorate in psychology, which informed her biography of Connolly, exploring his experiences of childhood trauma.
