Richard Bartlett "Ricky" Schroder, Jr. (born April 13, 1970) is an American actor and film director. He gained prominence as a child star in the 1979 film The Champ and became widely recognized for his role as Ricky Stratton on the sitcom Silver Spoons. Schroder continued to build his career into adulthood, appearing in notable productions such as the western Lonesome Dove and the crime drama NYPD Blue. He also had a significant role in the television series 24 as Mike Doyle. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Staten Island, he is the son of Diane and Richard Bartlett Schroder, Sr. Schroder has received accolades for his performances, including a Golden Globe Award for Best New Male Star of the Year at age nine. He was ranked #18 in VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Kid Stars. He is currently married.
