Biography

Robert James-Collier, born on 23 September 1976 in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is a British actor and model. He stands 188 cm (6' 2") tall and has gained recognition for his roles as Liam Connor in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street and Thomas Barrow in the acclaimed series Downton Abbey. James-Collier holds degrees in business from the University of Huddersfield and marketing from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

He began his acting career with a role in the series Down To Earth, leading to appearances in New Street Law and Shameless. In Coronation Street, he portrayed Liam Connor until his character's dramatic exit in 2008. Following this, he took on a leading role in Downton Abbey and performed in the West End production of Calendar Girls. Additionally, James-Collier has worked as a model, notably for Argos, and has received multiple awards for his performances in television.
