Sally Kirkland
Biography
Sally Kirkland is an actress known for her involvement in the 1960s New York avant-garde theater scene and as a former member of Andy Warhol's Factory. She gained significant recognition for her role as a Czech actress in the film "Anna" (1987), which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Born to a fashion editor and a scrap iron vendor, Kirkland began her career as a model for Vogue before studying acting at the Actor's Studio under Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen. She made her stage debut off-Broadway, gaining attention for her provocative performance in "Sweet Eros." Throughout her career, she has appeared in various underground films and had supporting roles in notable movies such as "The Sting" (1973) and "Private Benjamin" (1980). Alongside her acting pursuits, Kirkland is a minister in the New Age Church of the Movement of Inner Spiritual Awareness.
