Samantha Bond, born on 27 November 1961, is an English actress recognized for her portrayal of Miss Moneypenny in four James Bond films during the Pierce Brosnan era. She gained further acclaim for her role as Lady Rosamund Painswick, the wealthy widow and sister of Robert Crawley, in the acclaimed series Downton Abbey. Additionally, Bond is known for her performance as "Miz Liz" Probert in the Rumpole of the Bailey series. A member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, she has contributed to various theatrical productions, showcasing her versatility and talent in both film and stage performances.
